College students are always looking for side gigs to earn some extra bugs. The extra money gets used to support themselves, learn an additional course, and enjoy college life a little bit more than others.

Students can try many exciting side gigs while most settle for waiting tables in a restaurant. If you feel you can do so much more with your college days, here are five exciting and thrilling gigs that will enable you to earn while you learn.

Bouncer or security guard

If you are athletically built and have a penchant for bodybuilding, try to become a bouncer or security guard in a club. One of the significant advantages of the job is that most clubs provide a free gym membership to their bouncers. You can get stronger while your employer pays for it.

If you want to progress further in the job, get executive protection training certification from the Pacific West Academy. You will learn everything from scanning the areas for intruders to self-defense and gun handling, making you a real-life action star.

Surfing instructor

Some students love water and all the activities related to it. College students are too young to become professional swimming coaches. They can become surfing instructors in some private beach, resort, or a surfboard selling shop offering introductory courses for its customers.

There is no specific requirement for the job except you know how to swim and surf well, enjoying the rising tides. If your passion lies in watersports, becoming a surfing instructor is a great way to start a career when you are still in college. The experience will fetch you lifeguard jobs and similar jobs in cruises at a later stage.

Skydiving partner

Everybody loves skydiving. But, most of the people who try it are dead scared. Hence, most companies strap them to a well-trained partner. If you prove your mettle as a good skydiver, people will entrust their lives into your hands, dropping down from high altitudes with you.

Besides enjoying flying every day, scenic views, and meeting many new people regularly, skydiving helps you satisfy your penchant for adventure. Skydiving clubs are on constant lookouts for college students and youngsters who will serve as skydiving instructors and partners for good pay.

eSports reporting

The internet needs eSports experts who will report about the various new sporting events in the industry. It is similar to commentary on cricket or Wrestling but requires a certain level of writing and talking skill. College students interested in eSports can team up with clubs and report video game competition status.

The job requires good networking, familiarity with eSports, and significant expertise about the players and the game. Further, the students should also know how to present the game attractively to the viewers or listeners. If you are interested in video games and know about the tricks and tactics to play them well, there are good chances to make some great bucks on the side.

Online and offline journalism

The internet increased the demand for high-quality content creators significantly. If you are interested in writing, both online and offline journalism is a field with numerous chances. Start by writing a column to your local newspaper or create an account for free on websites that offer a free place to write.

Create a blog for yourself and start writing or keep writing to the newspapers you like regularly. Many online and offline news sites are looking for fresh perspectives from youngsters. Journalism will not pay you a good amount initially but help you hone your skills. It will turn out to be a fascinating and adventurous profession in a few years, which you will enjoy highly.
